‘Vocab Guru’ is a smart learning platform which provides complete Vocabulary, English learning and Personality Development training for general audience and several courses like GRE, CAT, Bank Po, Govt jobs, College and School students, etc. with amazing, unique audio-visual techniques. These techniques help in bringing a dramatic shift over English command in a fun and engaging way with long term retention in a short duration of time. We have over 85,000 users with a play store rating of 4.8/5 and we have partnered with ‘Reliance Jio’.

Current Status

i> I (Founder) have graduated from NITW(top 10 Engg College in India), Masters from OSU,USA in Business Analytics and have worked in Silicon Valley for 3 years and I quit my last job at Google, USA for ‘Vocab Guru’ to make a huge impact in the Ed-Tech world.
ii> We have seen a great product market fit. We have over 85,000 users with a play store rating of 4.8/5 and we have partnered with ‘Reliance Jio’ and with this we will hit around 1.5-2 million userbase on Jio platforms by 2021 end.
iii> We have got great media coverage. ‘Vocab Guru’s story was featured on Yahoo, Business World, Business Standard, Asia Tech Journal and more.
iv> We understand how much Unit Economics matter for scaling a startup and we have done our part and detailed projections. (url below).
vi> Selected for Amazon Edstart program and selected among top 500 startups from 20,000 startups for the biggest startup reality show 'Kuberan’s House' with Sonu Sood as the ambassador.

It is a huge market of approximately $10 billion and projected to grow at 20 % YoY reaching around $28 billion by 2026. With the Covid-19 hit while it has impacted several businesses, it gave a good boost to the Ed-Tech market. ‘Vocab Guru’ has more than 85,000 mobile App users with over 10,000 Facebook page likes and rated 4.8/5 on google play store. Especially after COVID-19, there has been tremendous growth in our user base, and it has increased to 3 times than before. We have recently partnered with Reliance Jio and will be launching on Jio platforms. With the partnership, they will help us reach over 1.5-2 million userbases by 2021.”

We beat our competitors in various ways:

1. Our unique audio- visual content help learning a fun and engaging process and users can learn at a faster rate with long term retention.
2. We have organized by courses, for anyone who wants to improve their English skills.
3. Live tests, sectional analysis.
4. Users can track their progress and know their rank among others.
5. Night mode, Grammar, Comprehension, Current Affairs, Word Book, Stories and other modules as per courses.
6. Affordable price.

Finance

We started our subscription model 6 months back and so far we have over 2500 paid subscribers out of 85000 users. There are 3 different plans
Monthly-$5, Quarterly- $10, Half yearly -$15
Our Monthly Recurring revenue is around $3500 and we have seen a 30% mom since the launch of subscription model.

Business model

There are 3 ways we are going to make revenue.

1. Subscription model is already live as mentioned in the previous field and we have over 2500 paid subscribers out of 85000 users.

2. We are launching live classes in Q2 2021 where we will be listing certified professional and users can book live sessions with them and we take around 20% per transaction(similar to airbnb,uber etc.)

3. We will partner with Educational Institutions like schools, colleges and provide them at a discounted price to get bulk subscription. Also we will be providing them specialized programs like Soft skills training, placement traning etc.

Risk 1-Crowded Space: We stand out of the crowded market with our unique techniques, content and great UI. Also, we have achieved the market validation among our 85000 users and they are loving it. Also with our partnership with ‘Reliance Jio’ we will be capturing a huge market.

Risk 2- How is the unit economics: We have done the Financial Model and has been validated by Succeed team and other experts. We believe how important is this and have very well planned our execution for next 6 years with detailed projections.

Risk 3- Is this the right time to invest: Timing cannot get any better especially after Covid, the world has realized the importance of Ed-Tech. It’s no more a supplement, it’s a necessity and the English learning market valued at around $9.6 B is projected to grow at 20% YoY reaching $28B by 2026 and with a 5% product market fit we will be $1.4B by 2026.
