Idea

To leverage the vast availability and production of films by providing a open access streaming eco-system to filmmakers of all level to upload films, get them rated and monetize them. The platform also acts as bridge between filmmakers and OTT platforms and a unified Marketplace for content production and services.

Current Status

MVP is already launched and POC is complete. Commenced in-organic marketing. As of June 2021, the platform has attracted 185 filmmakers who have upload 150 films. The platform has 500+ registered users with 50% conversion rate. The platform has also 25 registered Channel Partners and some exclusive tie-ups.

Market

The current TAM for Video content viewers in India is 529 Mn and is expected to reach 688 Mn by 2026. The target is to acquire approx. 2% market share in 5 years with approx. 15 millions paid/subsidized/free views annually.

In addition to these the total no. of existing OTT both mainstream and regional in India is more than 80 each looking for good quality content but with budget limitation. The target is earn atleast 1 Mn USD as commissions through film sales to various OTT platforms in 5 years.

Problem or Opportunity

Problem: Almost 3000 of the approx. 4000 films produced in the country never make it to the audience because of multiple reasons. Lack of Infrastructure, High Marketing and Distribution costs, limited capacity of OTTs to buy content. No existing platform for filmmakers to upload and monetize their content for free.

Opportunity:
To create the world's largest library of films and potential ideas and stories that could be commercially reproduced. To evolve a platform that acts as a validation tool for films which can further be pitched to OTTs based on facts and numbers.

Solution (product or service)

The platform is the first-of-its-kind open access streaming eco-system that now allows filmmakers who have not been able to manage a theatre release or a Satellite or OTT sale to upload their films for free, get them rated by sample viewers set, allow them choose what they wish to earn and release their films into the eco-system. The platform provides a viable monetization alternative to you-tube with better focus on films

Competitors

There is no direct competition to the existing business model. However, from customer acquisition perspective existing SVOD OTT platforms and evolving TVOD/AVOD OTT platforms offer reasonable resistance.

You-tube is presently the only alternative for all filmmakers who have failed to get a theatre, satellite or OTT release for their film. The dis-advantage with you-tube is mixed nature of content and no dedicated section for films. Monetization benchmarks are very stringent for average filmmakers to achieve.

No restriction on uploading films as long as they adhere to the law of the land
Freedom to choose and decide what they wish to earn
Free-of-cost primary rating of the film by actual sample set of users chosen randomly not offered by any competing platform

Business model

To leverage the large content availability by offering free of costing streaming eco-system with viable monetization opportunities to filmmakers of all kinds.

To filter potential stories, concept and short films and pitch them to corporates for commercial production and branding or to find producers to reproduce the films for commercial returns

To monitor and analyze film performance and pitch them to various OTT platforms for outright sale
